Subject: Leicester C. T. 4? Maker: Electric Railway and Tramway Carriage Works, Preston Truck: Brill 21E Seating: 34/22 Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr works Date: c.1904
Close-up detail of the tram which may be 4, as that tram was photographed later. This shows the half-turn reversed staircase which became the standard for Leicester. This differentiates it from the tram presumed to be number 1. This view shows another detail difference, truly a piece of rivet counting. The join between the upper -deck dash and side panels can be seen to incorporate seven rivets here, but on the earlier car there are five much heavier ones.
