Subject: Stagecoach Red & White 258 (C108 HKG)
Chassis: Ford Transit 190D
Body: Robin Hood B16F (on Dormobile shell)
Location: Cwmbran bus station
Date: c.1994

This bus was one of the final remnants of the National Welsh fleet, working from Barry depot until it closed. It passed briefly to Rhondda Buses (who may not have operated it), before moving again to Red & White who eventually had a fleet of ten of these Ford Transits which had formed the initial Bustler fleet. They were numbered out of order in the Red & White fleet and what had been National Welsh 8 became 258 in the new owner's fleet. It survived to be taken over by Stagcoach and the sticker in the nearside window shows it to be in their ownership here.

These Transits were not fitted with separate route number displays so it cannot display that it is working the 6, only one jourmey out of four of which served Henllys. However, prior to the introduction of Bustlers it only saw four journeys a day.
