Subject: Rhondda 343 (PNY 380)
Chassis: Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/1
Body: Weymann B44F
Location: Tonyrefail, Collenna Road
Date: 19-Sep-1964

Despite being anonymous in this view, the Boar's Head in Tonyrefail is still open for business today but the Rhymney Ales are long absent.

343 is turning right at the junction and is working the Saturday only 173 service from Porth to Gilfach Goch. Unfortunately it is fitted with one of the blinds where the destination was incorrectly spelt as Gilfach Coch and is also displaying the wrong route number.

The vehicle behind is Wimpey's RC 9685. This was an AEC Regal with Willowbrook B35F body new in 1947 as Trent 779. It was rebuilt again by Willowbrook in 1958, extended to 30 feet long becoming FDP39F in the process and being renumbered 311. It was one of five of the type sold to Wimpey in 1962.
