54 was rebuilt with rubber-mounted windows by 1959. For some reason the registration number was moved from the radiator to the front dash. There was then no space available for the fleet number so it was placed below the cab side window, using plain white numbers. It seems to have been the only bus so treated.

It is loading up opposite the YMCA for a trip to Acacia Street in Rhydyfelin.
