88 passes through Taff's Well and is very close to the station which is off-camera to the left.
This is an area of great interest in terms of its industrial archeology, with the Pentyrch Iron Works once occupying a significant stretch of the valley on the far side of the river which is not visible but just beyond and below the road.
A footbridge over the river can just be made out behind the bus. Until this was built access to the Iron Works and housing on the other side of the valley was either by stepping stones or the Pentyrch ferry.
