In 1980 Bergisel presented a very different scene. On the left car 3 has obviously just arrived from Igls. Three of the original Hall motor cars from 1909 (2, 3 and 4) were modified to replace steam trains on the service and were used on it until 1981.
64 to the right is one of the 1960 Lohner Großraumwagen trams which brought some modernity to the Innsbruck fleet. They spent their whole lives working on the 1 but ultimately had insufficient capacity and were withdrawn in 1989.
