Subject: City of Cardiff 482 (JKG 482F) Chassis: Daimler Fleetline CRG6LX Body: Metro-Cammell H42/33F Location: Cardiff bus station Date: 28-Mar-1970
Once this batch of Fleetlines entered service they became the dominant vehicles used by Cardiff on the 20 until the late appearance of the Willowbrook-bodied Fleetlines. 482 has been repainted relatively recently and has the more modern fleet name with white lower case lettering and white fleet numbers. It also lost the cream lower deck waistband at the same time.
This vehicle design was very familiar to me as Manchester had bought large quantities of this body style on both Leyland and Daimler chassis. Indeed, Manchester 4747 (FNE 747D) was loaned to Cardiff prior to the arrival of this batch for staff familiarisation.
