The Central Repair facility at Chepstow was floated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of National Welsh in July 1989 with the new company being called Bulwark Transport Engineering Ltd. It was sold to the management in June 1990.

XC973 has no doubt been here for maintenance - it can be seen from the surrounding vehicles that BTE had wisely diversified following the sale.
