It's now May 1983 and the services are one-man operated. GMT Standard 8349 is at the rear displaying the 428 (although the rear display wasn't always a good indicator of the service being operated!), a service introduced in 1981 with one-man operation. This was in part, at least, to avoid the need for reversal at Stamford Road. Along with 8349 are two of the ABU-J series of Atlanteans, by then the only buses remaining with a connection to Oldham Corporation, although they were delivered to SELNEC in orange.
