Subject: Western Welsh U3164 (389 WTG)
Chassis: Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/11
Body: Willowbrook B45F
Location: Porth depot
Date: c.1975

In need of a thorough clean on the offside where dirt seems to have stuck to spilt diesel, Rhondda 389 became Western Welsh 2389 and received Western Welsh livery. By this date it was one of the few survivors in pre-NBC livery which it would receive soon after. It was renumbered U3164 as seen here in Aug-1974.

Along with the rest of the batch it has lost the ventilator from a middle window on each side, I believe this was to fit to the RTG-F batch of Tiger Cubs which were built without any and presumably had problems with ventilation.

From a negative in the David Beilby collection taken by Robert Edworthy
