Subject: Bradford C. T. 592 (HNU 970) Chassis: AEC 661T Body: East Lancs H35/28R Location: Thornbury, Leeds Road Date: c.1959
592 looks very smart - this shot was taken not too long after it received its new body in March 1958. This was one of the last three AECs to run, being withdrawn at the end of July 1968.
In the far left background one of the East Lancs-bodied AEC Regent IIIs is approaching the roundabout and is likely to be on the 90 service from Stanningley. Both catered for local passengers along the route into the city, but the 90 bus had protective fares at peak times on outward journeys to ensure space for long-distance passengers.
