Subject: National Welsh RD5768 (OAX 1F)
Chassis: Bristol RELH6L
Body: ECW C47F
Location: Porth depot
Date: early-1980s

A surprising number of Red & White Bristol REs saw out their final days at Porth. RD5768 was allocated RD1329 in the new numbering scheme but withdrawn at the end of 1982 without carrying the new number.

The 503 service was a very short-lived trial of a direct service from Gilfach Goch to Cardiff that didn't even run to the bus station, but Mid-Glamorgan County Hall with just a single journey each way on working days only. Introduced in 1981 it seems to have lasted less than a year.
