705 pulls out of High Street with Cardiff Ailsa 423 (RKG 423Y) on the right. I don't believe the clock in the background was showing the correct time as the X9 left Cardiff at twenty-two minutes past the hour, although it's clear from other photographs taken the same day that it was working.
705 joined the Stagecoach fleet after the takeover and managed to have a long life afterwards, as it worked for GHA, Wrexham for a further ten years and saw further service after that.
