Subject: National Welsh H5966 (KNY 491D)
Chassis: AEC Regent V 2MD3RA
Body: Northern Counties H37/28F
Location: Tynewydd, St. Alban’s Bridge
Date: 4-Sep-1978

H5966 climbs across St. Alban's Bridge (alternatively Tynewydd Bridge) on its return from Blaencwm to Porth, Pen Pych (The Sentinel) dominates the view and is nowadays considerably more wooded.

Later in the day I travelled back to Porth on this bus and got on without taking photographs or doing anything that would make my interest apparent. The conductor told me "this bus is on its last run today", only later to tell me he was winding me up. I wondered how he knew of my interest and didn't know until I processed this image and realised he was stood upstairs watching me take this photograph earlier in the day!

He wasn't too far wrong in his prediction, though, as H5966 was gone before the end of the year.
