The heavily-pruned trees were, and still are, a feature of this stretch of Broadway. The particularly-carbuncled specimen prominent here seems to have been replaced in more recent years but others remain that are similar.
Caerphilly's 13 was in the last month of the Urban District Councils's existence, following which it would carry the same number in the Rhymney Valley fleet where it lasted until 1978.
