Subject: Red & White 251 (C360 GFJ) Chassis: Ford Transit 190D Body: Dormobile B16F Location: Pontypridd, Taff Street Date: 3–Feb-1993
The Red & White name was adopted to trade on the goodwill still associated with that name, but the image was, by this date, far removed from that of the original company.
New to North Devon as their 439 and later with Southern National, 251 was similar to many minibuses bought as Bustlers by National Welsh, although most native examples were on Freight-Rover Sherpa chassis.
It was one a number brought in to work from National Welsh's last surviving depot at Barry in 1992, where it received a simplified form of the yellow Bustler livery. After the final collapse of National Welsh it passed to the Western Travel Red & White fleet as their 251.
I assume it has just arrived from Ynysybwl, but paper stickers don’t give confidence in their accuracy.
