Subject: Islwyn BC 52 (D410 NUH)
Chassis: Dodge Commando G08
Body: East Lancs DP25F
Location: Nelson, Shingrig Road
Date: 10–Jun-1992

52 heads away from Nelson towards Treharris on its way to Pontypridd.

The car in the background is pulling out of Station Terrace which once led, unsurprisingly, to Nelson and Llancaiach station. At this junction, The Square, there is a unique feature of Nelson in the form of a handball court, the only surviving one in Wales.

The court was built by the Royal Oak around 1860 and was until the early 20th Century a key part of what was at the time a very popular working man's sport. A court was marked again in 1995 and it has remained in use, latterly shortened for saftey reasons due to the proximity to the main road.
