Subject: Dunfermline & District truck
Truck: Peckham Pendulum P22
Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr Works
Date new: 1918

This is a Peckham Pendulum P22 truck prior to installation under the later batch of trams for Dunfermline & District. They had an 8'-0" wheelbase and featured the Spencer slipper (track) brake - the shoe was 2'-3" long and is prominent in the centre of the truck. The clearance seen here is much greater than in normal running but the weight of the body is not yet on the suspension.
