Subject: Bradford C. T. 832 (LHN 782)
Chassis: BUT 9611T
Body: East Lancs H37/29F
Location: Clayton, The Avenue
Date: 10-Aug-1965

Fred Astaire and Judy Garland sang "We would ride on a trolley car but we haven't got the fare / So we'll walk up the Avenue". 832 isn't strictly a trolley car (an American tram) but would provide a very comfortable way of going up the Avenue in Clayton.

This view shows something that I suspect few enthusiasts really were aware of, that the departure stop at Clayton was the opposite side of the road to the turning circle. Most, I suspect, like me got off at the terminus, took a photograph and got straight back on again. The lay-by on this side also gave a larger swept circle for turning trolleybuses.
