Stott’s acquired several of these Atlanteans from South Yorkshire Transport at the end of 1991. JKW 298W is about to pass the Old Mess House, a pub name which has since disappeared, the building having had several subsequent identities. It was latterly set below road level as the carriageway had been raised to make gradients easier on the introduction of horse trams to Oldham.
