This tram started life as 51, one of seven trams new in 1909 for the newly-built (but long-disappeared) 2 service to Mühlau. It was rebuilt in 1946 and for some reason swapped identities with similar 53, the number it now carries.

Withdrawn in 1960 it became a rail grinder for some years, surviving long enough to be preserved and now restored to 1940s condition.
