Subject: Rhondda 255 (JTG 946) Chassis: AEC Regent III 9612E Body: Weymann H30/26R Location: Cardiff bus station Date: Aug-1956
Photographs of these earlier Regent IIIs in Cardiff bus station are not common. By the time it opened in 1954 they would have been relegated from service on the trunk routes from Cardiff to Treorchy, Ystrad, Ferndale or even Merthyr. Many were of course withdrawn as early as 1958 as well.
255 is working a duplicate to Tonypandy and we must presume that it is the conductor on the right going to talk to some colleagues. The office building, that was to become a constant backdrop for photographs in this location, is still under construction.
