Subject: Rhondda 245 (HTG 713) Chassis: AEC Regent III 9612E Body: Weymann H30/26R Location: Cardiff, Scott Street Date: c.1950
A beautiful portrait of a Rhondda Regent III when virtually new showing just how elegant they could look. This view reveals details not so easily seen such as the black moulding over the lower deck windows carried as a line round the edge of the canopy valance. The tax discs are in their original position under the canopy and their is no nearside mirror.
245 is set to work to Ystrad Rhondda, this alternative destination having been introduced around 1947. With the two services alternating that means 245 is likely to depart fifteen minutes after 230 visible in the background.
