More trolleybus wires are visible here at the other end of Newton Street, with the load having turned onto Piccadilly. The large clock at the top of the photograph was outside the Manchester Corporation Transport offices, located at this time at 55 Piccadilly. They later moved to Ardwick, alongside Hyde Road garage.
