Subject: Bradford C. T. 702 (DKY 4)
Chassis: Sunbeam MF2
Body: East Lancs H35/28RD
Location: Bradford, Hall Ings
Date: late-1950s

702 is stood at the City terminus of the 89 with its distinctive shelter. This was in use until May 31st when road works led to the use of a temporary turning circle at the junction of Broadway and Bank Street. When the works were completed the trolleybuses went round Britannia House (in the background) in the other direction with the stop in Bank Street; this lasted until March 14th 1965 when the 89 was linked with the 7 service to Thornton and became a cross-city service.

The NCB-bdied AEC Regent behind (538) is working the 90 to Stanningley, of which the 89 could be considered to be a short working as the route to Thornbury was identical for both. The timetables of the two services were co-ordinated.

704 was the last of the Johannesburg Sunbeams to remain in service by about a month, being withdrawn at the end of April 1967.
