Bradford had a superb and very interesting trolleybus system. The city is well-suited to trolleybus operation as the topography of the area is rather like a bowl, meaning that almost every route involved a sustained climb out of the city. The silence and lack of local pollution provided a form of public transport that was significantly within the levels achieved by the greenest of today's transport, but unfortunately we have evolved a regulatory environment which is heavily loaded against the trolleybus.

This section of the gallery covers every service apart from those that were withdrawn prior to 1941, namely to Oakenshaw and Bolton Woods/Frizinghall, simply as I have no suitable material. Various other aspects of trolleybus operation are covered here, including a look at the depots.

I would like to acknowledge Stanley King's contribution to the site as his published works on Bradford's trolleybuses contain a wealth of detail and have allowed me to put together these route histories which are the foundation of this gallery.
