Rhondda started daytime operations from Tonypandy to Gilfach Goch on 4-Aug-1997. Two journeys were on the 154 service, a faster connection that used the A4119 and the A4093 Hendreforgan link road, both built on the trackbed of old railways.
This photograph provides a rare record of this service, although taken in early Stagecoach days. As well as the new Stagcoach fleet number, the original number can just be made out as well.
