Ted's photographic expedition to The Square on this day proved very successful, capturing two of the three of these dual-purpose Tiger Cubs when very new. 392 was working to Porth whilst 394 is on the Treorchy service, which also ran three times daily. Bus version 386 can also be seen behind 394 on the Pontypridd service.
The Ship and Castle in the background lasted longer than the Knight's Arms but recently, after a short closure, it has re-opened as the Saltwater Inn.
