The roundabout here was first used by trolleybuses on 11th December 1955. Above 735 can be seen the wiring going up Toller Lane to provide a loop to run into Duckworth Lane depot. Until the opening of the roundabout trolleybuses leaving the depot and heading for Four Lane Ends would turn off to the right here (a left turn for the trolleybus!), go round the loop and turn right at the bottom of Little Lane. Once the roundabout opened they went round the roundabout using a new loop.
