Subject: Rhondda 379 (379 GNY)
Chassis: Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/2
Body: Metro-Cammell DP41F
Location: London Victoria coach station
Date: 22-May-1961

A lovely view of 379 in Victoria coach station when almost new. There are a few puzzles about what it is doing here - Rhondda didn't have a service to London although they ran many private hire trips there (to the extent that it is on the destination blind) but I wouldn't expect those to use Victoria coach station. If it was duplicating on an Associated Motorways service I would expect to see an on-hire notice in the windscreen.

Then finally there is the notice in the windscreen which says "Hindhead Tour". Hindhead is a pleasant Surrey town and close to The Devil's Punchbowl but seems an unlikely destination for an excursion from the Rhondda. Southdown operated vehicles on a "Hindhead Tour" although not normally, as far as I am aware, from London but from places like Chichester.
