Subject: Southern National 368 (C930 GYD) on hire to National Welsh Chassis: Ford Transit 190D Body: Robin Hood (on Dormobile shell) B16F Location: Pontypridd bus station Date: 16-Aug-1986
This batch of Southern National minibuses were distributed to several companies when new for driver familiarisation as it was the start of the minibus era. Another example was also with National Welsh but this was the sole example to operate from Aberdare and preceded the two Cambus examples.
What is surprising is the use of minibuses still working to the original timetable on the one former Red & White service in the area which had historically seen double-deckers. When this route was converted to full minibus operation the frequency was significantly increased.
