Subject: Western Welsh U3768 (RTG 316F) and U4266 (HTG 303D) Chassis: Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/12 Body: Marshall DP41F (RTG 316F) and B45F (HTG 303D) Location: Porth depot Date: 23-Apr-1978
Although built as dual-purpose, RTG 316F was by this date classified as a bus as indicated by the livery - it carried no fleet number at the front at this time. All five vehicles visible here are Marshall-bodied Tiger Cubs.
U4266 had, when new as Rhondda 303, been fitted with a trial of the same ventilation system fitted to the 1968 Tiger Cubs and has also lost it and the associated front grille below the windscreen. It was the first of the quartet to be withdrawn, in 1978 very soon after this photograph was taken, two years before the remainder. The buses in this view would receive National Welsh fleet names in the following week.
