Subject: Western Welsh 1271 (UKG 271)
Chassis: Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/2
Body: Metro-Cammell DP41F
Location: Pontypridd, Broadway
Date: late-1960s

Once the works in Sardis Road started, leading to the new bridge, the Porthcawl services started outside the Post Office until the bus station opened in 1978. The Post Office is now no more and is now a Wetherspoon's known as The Tumble Inn, recollecting another name for this small area outside the station.

1271 waits for departure time on what seems a quiet day despite the sun. However, this is a late afternoon departure and too late for day-trippers heading for the coast.

This batch of Tiger Cubs provided a degree of luxury on the Pontypridd to Porthcawl run, with coach-style seating in basically a bus body shell, enhanced by an attractive livery.
