Subject: National Welsh HR2969 (VTG 503G)
Chassis: Leyland Atlantean PDR1A/1
Body: Northern Counties H42/31F
Location: Tynewydd, St. Alban’s Bridge
Date: 27–Jun-1979

This photograph shows clearly the structure of St. Alban's Bridge. Constructed in 1934, just in time to permit through double-decker operation to Blaencwm and Blaenrhondda following the abandonment of the tramway, it incoprorates a steel deck which unfortunately over the years has suffered severe corrosion. At the time of writing work was in hand to design a replacement structure which will undoubtedly look very different.

HR2969 can be identified in this view by the unique style of 'wrap-around' advertising.
