Subject: Taff-Ely BC 29 (CBO 29V) Chassis: Leyland National 11351A/1R Body: Leyland National B49F Location: Pontypridd, Rhondda Road Date: 5-Jul-1986
29 passes under the viaduct built by the Taff Vale Railway to take their line over what is still the Rhondda River. The new girder bridge was put in around 1974 to improve clearances and allow a one-way system to be created here.
It’s impossible to make out the destination display of 29 (mainly because the National design made cleaning the glass very difficult) but it would probably offer little clue which route it was on. However, it must be working one of the Maesycoed circular routes as they were the only ones to use this stretch of road, and even then only in this direction.
