Subject: Bournemouth 70 (LJ 7703)
Chassis: AEC 661T
Body: English Electric H26/24R
Location: Preston, Strand Road works
Date: 16-May-1933

Unusually this photograph is marked with a precise date. It shows one of Bournemouth's four prototype trolleybuses on tilt test. 70 was an early AEC 661T (chassis number 661T007) and was soon converted to the dual-door layout associated with Bournemouth, with a seating layout changed to H24/22D.

As the trolleybus fleet standardised in a big way on Sunbeam six-wheelers, 70 became non-standard and advantage was taken of the similarity between AEC trolley and petrol bus chassis to convert it to a petrol bus. It lasted in that form until withdrawal in June 1950.
