Gateshead 5 is alongside Leeds Railcoach 602 at Town End, seen on the last night of service for the season which took place the day after the clocks went back, leading to operation into the hours of darkness. Behind is the facade of the Derby Assembly Rooms, moved here in 1972 and still, in this view, clearly a facade with no windows in the upper floors. A modern building now exists behind the facade, which went through a restoration programme in 2016.
