Subject: National Welsh HR6071 (BTG 516J) Chassis: Leyland Atlantean PDR1A/1 Body: Alexander H42/31F Location: Blaenrhondda, Brook Street Date: 4-Sep-1978
Passing along the long terraces of Brook Street which constitue a significant part of the settlement of Blaenrhondda, HR6071 works a 520 to Pontypridd. The service was still crew-operated at this date.
The impressive hills to be found at the head of the Rhondda Fawr are more distant than the man-made hills seen above the bus that were the spoil tips from Fernhill Colliery. These were right by the terminus and have subsequently largely been removed.
