A most unusual vehicle to be found working from Porth was one of the batch of twenty-one 1967 Bristol RESL6Ls, so strongly associated with Aberdare depot where they were all allocated from new and from where few strayed at all. This photo is a little deceptive as buses from Aberdare depot would also leave Cardiff this way.
RS1305 was one of only three of the batch to run with the new numbers from the January 1983 renumbering, with three others being allocated new numbers but withdrawn before they were applied. It clearly wandered in its last months as shown by the Wyedean local identifier.
It is working on the new 506 introduced with the MAP service revisions and will proceed to Porth via Creigiau, Church Village, Talbot Green and Tonyrefail.
