Subject: Merthyr Tydfil C. T. 176 (GHB 176J) Chassis: Leyland Leopard PSU3A/2R Body: East Lancs B51F Location: Nelson, Pentwyn Road Date: 23-Dec-1972
Due to a water main burst on the A470 at Rock Cottages, between Quaker's Yard and Fiddler's Elbow, buses on the Cardiff to Merthyr Tydfil service had to be diverted. Heading south the diversion took them along the route to Bryncelyn (just outside Nelson) which Merthyr Tydfil had ceased to operate from 27-Dec-1970, having arranged for this to be transferred to Red & White in exchange for the latter's service to Pant.
176 is at the Hollybush and is signalling to turn down Llwyncelyn Terrace which will bring it to Abernant where it can then continue to Fiddler's Elbow.
