Chassis: Leyland Leopard PSU3E/4R
Body: Willowbrook C49F
Location: Swansea, Quadrant bus station
Date: mid-1980s

173 is on ExpressWest duties in Swansea, working the 611 to Haverfordwest. This took the more direct route from Carmarthen whereas the 612 travelled via Tenby, taking about an hour longer.

173 was originally 481 and carries the express coach livery used by South Wales at the time which was an amalgam of NBC corporate stripes and the traditional South Wales fleet name.
