The need to use double-deckers on the Pontypridd to Caerphilly service led to clearance checks being carried out with the bridge under the railway near Beddau Loop Junction being one of the most critical sites. The result was recorded on film and has given us this rather nice image of one of the prewar Bristol K5Gs in early wartime condition, including blackout masks and markings.
