This picture is not technically perfect but to take it at all was a major achievement in wartime as film and chemicals for processing would, like almost everything else then, be difficult to obtain.
23 is in any case a rather rare bird, being withdrawn as early as 1949. Here it is still carrying the white edges to the mudguards as well as the blackout masks which would be removed before long.
