Operator: Bury C.T. Fleet No: 52 Registration No: EN 6051 Chassis: Leyland Titanic TT3 Body: English Electric H30/30C Year: 1935
A rear three-quarter view of 51 shows the central emergency exit downstairs. Also visible is a stop light and direction indicator cluster of a style I associate much more with Oldham as it was standard there for many years.
Bury experimented with entrance layouts. Their earlier double-deckers had been (with an odd exception) dual-entrance with two staircases. In 1934 one Crossley and one Leyland were bodied by English Electric (photos of these don't seem to have survived) with centre-entrance bodies, these having the more usual four-wheel chassis. After the Titanics Bury adopted the more usual rear entrance until the arrival of the Wulfrunian in 1960.
