Subject: Bury C. T. 58 Maker: English Electric, Preston Seating: 48/32 Bogies: English Electric Burnley maximum traction Motors: 2 x GEC WT58 46 hp Controller: English Electric K3B Location: Bury Date new: 1925
Bury's final batch of trams comprised six enclosed bogie double-deckers numbered 55 to 60. They were very similar to the last batches bought by Bolton which proved useful as three of the batch were sold to them in 1943, 55, 56 and 58 becoming 451-453. The tram seen here thus became the highest-numbered tram in the Bolton fleet.
I have not been able to conform the location of this photograph but I believe it is alongside Clarence Park on Walmersley Road.
