This bus carries a special livery for the X8/X9 express services from the Rhondda Valleys into Cardiff, at this stage still in a corporate NBC style. It working one of the services for which it is branded, the X8 from Maerdy, and has just passed the Civic Centre on the final stages of its run.
Starting off as UC 8205, it had received its latest number UD191 about four months before this picture and would become UD391 before ending up as plain 391 with Rhondda Buses.
