Subject: Portsmouth C. T. 8 (RV 4656) Chassis: Sunbeam MF2 Body: English Electric H26/24R Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr Works Date: 1934
In this view 8 is clearly identifiable as such. It went on to lead an unremarkable life in Portsmouth, its main distinction being that it was decorated for the Silver Jubilee of King George V in 1935. It was equipped with British Thomson-Houston (BTH) control gear and a BTH motor.
As with all these initial trolleybuses, the shallow windscreen gave poor visibility of the overhead line and in consequence a small window was quickly added in the white band above the windscreen.
Renumbered 208 in 1938, it was stored from 1940 to 1946 and last licensed in 1952.
