Subject: Blackpool C. T. 122 Maker: Electric Railway and Tramway Carriage Works Bogie: Brill 27D Location: Bispham, Red Bank Road Date: c.May-1924
This photograph is an extract from the picture of the combination to make the detail more visible. This car at least is carrying a load of rail chairs and the like to simulate a fully-laden tram.
These trams were known as Yankee trams because of their American equipment. They were built in 1899 at the beginning of a franchise agreement made between Dick, Kerr (owners of ERTCW) and Brill for the exclusive supply of this very successful range of trucks, although the 27Ds fitted here were unique to this batch.
