153 is one of six of the batch that received new Burlingham bodies in 1946. These lasted well with Rhondda - new in 1937 and withdrawn in 1956 it means they ran longer with these replacement bodies.
The device in the middle window downstairs was to commemorate the Queen's Coronation and helps to date the photograph fairly accurately.
