Subject: Northern 2649 (HCN 9G) Chassis: Leyland Leopard PSU3A/4R Body: Alexander C47F Location: Manchester, Bloom Street Date: mid-1970s
This batch of Leopards seems to have been considered as dual-purpose vehicles, although the Alexander Y-type body was used for bus, coach or dual-purpose vehicles.
2649 was later renumbered 4183 and may already be renumbered here, but the numbers were on the roof above the cab window using grey numerals which made them difficult to read, not helped by the original slide being rather over-exposed.
From an original slide in the David Beilby collection, photographer unknown.
